Dear Diary:

I Had An Explosion In My Kitchen=^..^=

I bought a pumpkin pie and a cherry pie with a canister of whipped cream for the Thanksgiving party in our building a few days before the event.  When I got to the party I saw that I was the only one who bought any food for the party because the homeless shelter donated the turkey, dressing, potato salad and green beans. They also donated some pies, but, they weren't as good as the ones I brought. I didn't like their choices. Anyway.............................. LOL!
You will not believe what happened to me two days before the party!! Last Saturday I got a delivery of steaks from Golden Share food program. By the way, 6 steaks for $20. Is that not a great deal or what? Well, at night I decided I was going to broil one of the steaks completely forgetting that I had left the canister of whipped cream on the stove............. Yea, you guessed it! I had just finished eating my steak dinner when the canister exploded...............ALL over the kitchen!! That is the first time that has ever happened to me in my life and when I heard the explosion I looked up and a second later the canister came flying to the floor! Thank goodness Mija and I were in the living room at the time. Can you imagine if it had exploded while we were in there? Can you just see me dragging Mija into the bathroom to wash her fur of all that whipped cream? LOL! She would not have been a happy camper! Neither would I have been with it all in my hair! Oh my word!! After Mija and I settled down from the initial explosion I continued eating my dinner because I felt that the damage had been done and my getting up at that point was not going to make the mess any less in the kitchen. I'm so incredibly laid back with certain things, you know? When I finally did get up to clean my back gave out after only cleaning out the sinks, the counter, and, the microwave. I had to sit down and leave the toaster, stove, refrigerator, table, chairs and floor for another day. What a mess! Imagine? My first experience with a can exploding! It was an experience and one that I hope to never repeat. When Lupita came by the next day she cleaned everything up for me. What a sweetheart, because that is not in her job discription. She says she doesn't mind because she really likes to help people. She is such a blessing to me.
Needless to say we had the pies minus the whipped cream at the Thanksgiving party.  *Sniff*  *Sniff*
